GB 1757-1979 "Spreader Paint Brushability Determination Method" is applicable to the determination of Spreader Brushability, mainly based on the evaluation of the paint surface Appearance and painting conditions.

Number: GB 1757-1979Name: Determination of Brushability of Spreader PaintStatus: Abolish

This standard is applicable to the determination of paintability of coatings. Evaluate based on the appearance and paint condition of the painted surface.

1. General provisions

Materials and Instruments

Paint brush: width 50~65 mm;

Timber frame: 560x400 mm (calculated on inner edge), wooden strips 35 mm thick and 25 mm wide;

Cloth: No. 114 mercerized plain cloth;

Balance: The sensitivity is 0.1 grams.

2. Measurement method

According to the length and width of the wooden frame, remove a piece of cloth at 4 mm (length) and 3 mm (width) around the cloth, tighten the cloth, align the seam with the outer edge of the frame, and use Thumbtacks are fastened to the frame.

Use a paint brush to apply two layers of paint alternately in the vertical and horizontal directions of the cloth. It is not advisable to move the paint brush multiple times. The interval between each layer and the amount of paint for each layer should be stipulated in the product standards.

If the viscosity of the coating paint is high, diluent is allowed to be added for dilution, but the amount of diluent added shall not exceed the amount of the original paint. The amount of coating paint used is calculated based on the original paint.

This test is conducted under constant temperature and humidity conditions.

3. Result evaluation

The sample is qualified if it does not condense on the painted surface, the paint film is evenly distributed, and there are no whitening, spots or bubbles, and there are no drips on the back of the mask.
