Determination of dissolution rate of powdered polyacrylamide

The dissolution rate of powdered polyacrylamide can be determined by the following steps:

  1. Take a certain amount of powdered polyacrylamide sample, put it into a desiccator, dry it at a certain temperature to a constant mass, and record the mass after drying.

  2. Take a certain volume of deionized water, put it into a constant temperature bath and heat it to a certain temperature (usually 25°C or 80°C).

  3. Add the pre-weighed powdered polyacrylamide into the deionized water in the constant temperature tank, and start timing.

  4. In a certain time interval, take out the sample and filter it with a filter to filter out the undissolved polyacrylamide particles, and calculate the mass of dissolved polyacrylamide by using the concentration difference of the polyacrylamide content in the solution.

  5. Calculate the dissolution rate based on the time interval and the mass of dissolved polyacrylamide.

NBCHAO reminds you: the determination of the dissolution rate should be carried out under the same temperature, stirring speed, pH value and other conditions, so as to ensure the comparability of the results.
