Electrophoresis gloss detection for Glossmeter applications

Electrophoretic paint is a special coating that uses electrophoretic technology to disperse the coating on the surface of the object to be coated. The gloss meter also plays an important role in the gloss detection of electrophoretic paint.

application

The glossiness of electrophoretic paint refers to the reflective ability of its surface, that is, the brightness of the surface. Measuring the gloss of an e-coat can help determine the quality and appearance of an e-coat surface. If the glossiness of the surface of the electrophoretic paint is not uniform or does not meet the requirements, it will cause the surface color to be incongruous, and the reflected light on the surface is not bright enough, which will affect the appearance and quality of the electrophoretic paint. Therefore, measuring the gloss of the electrophoretic paint can check the uniformity and quality of the electrophoretic paint surface, ensure that the electrophoretic paint meets the requirements, and improve the appearance and quality of the electrophoretic paint. In addition, gloss is also an important indicator of the surface treatment process of electrophoretic paint. For some electrophoretic paint products processed by special processes, such as high-gloss treatment and matte treatment, it is necessary to measure the influence of gloss.

The gloss meter is used to measure the gloss of electrophoretic paint. It can quickly and accurately measure the gloss of the coating surface so as to check the quality of the coating surface.

Measurement steps

  1. Preparation: Turn on the gloss meter, and follow the instructions of the instrument to warm up and calibrate.

  2. Sample preparation: Spray a layer of clear varnish evenly on the surface of the coating, and wait for the clear varnish to dry.

  3. Measurement: Place the measuring head of the gloss meter on the surface of the sample, and press the measurement button to measure. Often multiple measurements are taken and averaged to get a more accurate result.

  4. Recording and analysis: record the measurement results, and analyze whether the results meet the requirements according to the standards or requirements.

North and South Chao reminds you: the coating surface of electrophoretic paint is usually uneven, so care should be taken to keep the measuring head in contact with the sample surface during measurement. In addition, care should be taken to avoid the influence of light sources on the measurement results during measurement, and it is usually necessary to measure in a low-light environment
