Stone gloss detection

Ground gloss is the reflective ability of the ground stone surface, usually measured with a gloss meter. Measuring the gloss of ground stone can evaluate its surface finish and flatness, because the surface of stone with high gloss looks smoother, more reflective, has better appearance and visual effect, and also indicates that the stone processing technology is more refined. At the same time, the glossiness of the stone surface will also affect its physical and chemical properties, such as wear resistance, durability and surface hardness. Therefore, in the process of construction and quality control, measuring the glossiness of ground stone can help the construction party ensure the consistency and quality of the construction effect, and improve the market competitiveness of the construction project. In addition, the glossiness of ground stone can also be used as one of the important indicators to evaluate its surface cleanliness and brightness.

application:

Gloss meter can be used to measure the gloss of stone surface, including natural stone and artificial stone, etc. Gloss detection can be used in stone processing, quality control, stone selection, etc.

Measurement steps

  1. Clean the surface of the ground stone to ensure that no dust and dirt affect the measurement results; turn on the gloss meter for preheating and self-test.

  2. Before measurement, the gloss meter needs to be calibrated and calibrated according to the equipment manual.

  3. Place the gloss meter sensor on the surface of the ground stone to be tested, and usually choose a relatively flat and smooth location for measurement, avoiding factors that affect the measurement such as potholes and protrusions.

  4. Press the test key of the gloss meter to make the light emitted by the gloss meter shine on the stone surface and reflect back, the instrument will automatically calculate the brightness value of the reflected light and display the gloss value.

  5. In order to improve measurement accuracy, it is usually necessary to perform multiple measurements and calculate their average value as the final measurement result.

  6. Analyze the glossiness of the stone surface according to the measurement results, and judge whether it meets the requirements.

Precautions

  1. When measuring, keep the vertical direction of the gloss meter and the stone surface to avoid angular deviation from affecting the measurement results.

  2. When measuring, keep the ambient light stable and avoid direct sunlight from affecting the measurement results.

  3. Stones of different colors and textures may have different gloss values, which need to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis
