Coating powder performance testing - volatile content determination method

Determination of properties of powder coatings --- Determination of volatile matter content

(1) Equipment

Oven: 0~250°C or 0~300°C, sensitivity ±1°C.

Aluminum box dish or iron dish: flat bottom, diameter 50mm, height 10mm.

Precision Analytical Balance: Sensitivity 0.00lg.

(2) Test procedure

Weigh out (2.0±0.1) g powder sample, put it into a weighed aluminum or iron dish, put the dish into an oven with a constant temperature of (105±2)°C and dry it for 1 hour or at a constant temperature to ( Bake at 230±3)°C for 5 minutes, put it in quickly to avoid a significant drop in the temperature of the box, then take out the dish, cool it to room temperature, and weigh it.
