Determination of Pigment Dispersion by Sieve Analysis

In the paint industry, sieve analysis can be used to determine coarse particles in pigments. In order to conduct sieve analysis tests, grid copper mesh screens and wire mesh screens are generally used. It is less when using a round hole sieve (a sieve with a large size). The size of the sieve is indicated by the number of holes (mesh) on a centimeter or an inch.

According to T0CT3584--50, there are 28 grades of square hole wire sieves with high precision. The screen is made of phosphor bronze (NN1.7~0042), brass (NN5~025) and carbon tool steel (NN5~0042); the width of the screen is 1000-(±15) mm, and the length is in More than 1 meter.

The hole side dimensions and metal machine diameters in these sieves are listed in Tables 9 and 10.
