In construction mass management, monitoring film thickness is a more important item. The purpose of monitoring film thickness is to make the thickness of the coating to be coated meet the thickness specified by the design to ensure protective performance, and to avoid waste caused by ultra-thick. Film thickness can be divided into wet film thickness (WFT) and dry-film thickness (DFT). Wet film thickness refers to the film thickness just after coating, mainly used to know and supervise Coating construction CHINA, dry-film thickness refers to the coating thickness after film hard drying, mainly used in coating design and construction acceptance stage.
The conversion relationship between dry-film thickness and wet film thickness is:
Dry-film thickness (mm) = wet film thickness (mm) * Coating volume percent solids (%)
The above formula Coating volume percent solids refers to the test results, not the theoretical volume percent solids of Coating. Because the film drying process is very responsible, for Coatings and two-component paints with higher percent solids, the above conversion relationship is consistent with the actual comparison. For volatile Coatings and inorganic zinc-rich Coatings with lower percent solids, the above relationship is quite different from the actual situation.
