Key performance and detection method of polyurethane waterproof coatings

Polyurethane waterproof coating is a waterproof coating made of polyurethane resin as the main component, adding various fillers, diluents and other substances. It has excellent weather resistance, abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance and chemical resistance. Polyurethane waterproof coatings are widely used in waterproofing projects such as building roofs, basements, grounds, pools, storage tanks, etc., and in the fields of waterproofing and anti-corrosion of transportation infrastructure such as railways, highways, bridges, and tunnels.

Detection method steps

The following are the properties and testing steps that need to be tested for polyurethane waterproof coatings:

  1. Construction performance: use the construction performance testing equipment to test the construction performance of the paint, such as fluidity, brushability, and drying time, and record the test results.

  2. Weather resistance performance: test the weather resistance performance of the coating using a spectral radiation Test Chamber or a xenon lamp aging Test Chamber, and record the test results.

  3. Water resistance: test the water resistance of the coating with moisture penetration test equipment and immersion test equipment, and record the test results.

  4. Adhesive Strength: Test the adhesion of the coating to the substrate using a cross-hatch Tester and a peel Tester, and record the test results.

  5. Impact resistance: test the impact resistance of the coating with an impact testing machine, and record the test results.

  6. Abrasion resistance: Use an abrasion Tester to test the abrasion resistance of the paint, and record the test results.

  7. Color and gloss: Test with a color difference meter and a gloss meter under a standard light source, and record the test results.

For some coatings with special properties, it may be necessary to use other instruments and equipment for testing, and the specific operation steps will also be different.
