Theoretical spreading rate, theoretical dosage and actual dosage of Coatings

Coating theory spreading rate

The theoretical spreading rate of Coating refers to the area of coating thickness that can be Spreader per unit volume of Coating under certain circumstances.

The theoretical spreading rate of Coating is an important basis for calculating the amount of Coating, which can be calculated as follows:

R = 1/T

In the formula:

R - theoretical spreading rate, ㎡/L;

T - erected film wet film thickness, mm

Note: The above formula makes the following assumptions:

1. Coating Spreader Loss Not Considered

2, uniform coating thickness

3. The satisfactory film obtained by Spreader has no defects

It can be seen that the calculated theoretical spreading rate is the Spreader result under the satisfactory condition, that is, the maximum area that can be painted per unit volume of Coating.

Theoretical and actual dosage of Coatings

After determining the Coating supporting system and arranging painting, it is often necessary to estimate the required Coating dosage. The theoretical dosage of Coating can be calculated as follows:

Theoretical dosage of Coating (L) = painting area (㎡)/Theoretical spreading rate of Coating (㎡/L)

The satisfactory conditions set up to calculate the theoretical spreading rate of Coating are impossible to achieve in actual construction, so it is also necessary to estimate the actual amount of Coating according to the actual construction requirements. The conversion relationship between the actual amount of Coating and the theoretical amount is as follows:

Actual amount of Coating (L) = (1 + α) * Theoretical amount of Coating (L)

Note: α represents the Coating consumption coefficient. Due to the uneven surface of the coated object, Soho during the painting process, different environmental conditions during painting, and different types of construction tools, the α value is not a constant. Generally, the α value of the flat surface of high voltage airless spray is 0.6~ 0.8, the α value of the complex surface of lame plating is 0.8-1.0, the α value of the smooth surface of manual painting is 0.3-0.4, and the α value of the complex surface of manual painting is 0.4-0.6
