Determination of high-speed mechanical stability of latex

Latex, as an important basic raw material in industrial production, plays a vital role in the production of many products. However, in order to ensure its quality and stability, a latex high-speed mechanical stability Tester is required. The instrument complies with the standard requirements of "GBT 8301 Determination of Mechanical Stability of Concentrated Natural Latex" and "SHT 1151 Determination of High-speed Mechanical Stability of Synthetic Latex" and is one of the key equipment necessary for latex production units and scientific research institutions.

Test process

The method for testing the mechanical stability of latex is relatively simple but rigorous. First, take 100 grams of sample and dilute it with ammonia solution to ensure that the solid content reaches 55% of the total mass fraction. Then, put the sample into the heating device to bring the temperature to 36~37°C, and stir gently. Subsequently, use a stainless steel wire mesh to filter and place 80 grams of latex in a container, confirm that the temperature is 35°C ± 1°C, and place it in the specified position of the instrument for high-speed stirring. During the entire process, the stirrer speed should be maintained at 14000r/min±200r/min.

Determine the end point

The determination of the end point is a key step in the testing process. There are two commonly used methods:

palm technique

Take a drop of latex sample and place it on the palm of your hand every 15 seconds. The end point is when agglomerates appear for the first time. To confirm that the end point has been reached, the stirring device can be allowed to stir for another 15 seconds and then take a sample. If the agglomerated particles increase, it is confirmed that the end point has been judged correctly.

water surface dispersion method

Drop the obtained sample onto a flat-bottomed dish containing 100~150mL of water. If the latex does not agglomerate, it will disperse into a milky white cloud within a few seconds; if agglomeration occurs, the sample will easily form agglomerated particles.

Application scope

The latex high-speed mechanical stability Tester is widely used in the production and research fields of natural latex and synthetic latex. Through the use of this instrument, users can timely and accurately evaluate the stability and quality of latex, thereby guiding the production process and ensuring product quality and performance. The latex high-speed mechanical stability Tester plays an important role in the production and research and development of latex products. It not only helps manufacturers ensure product quality, but also promotes the progress and development of the latex industry.
