The adhesion detection method of the residual amount on the asphalt sieve is an important means to evaluate the performance of asphalt materials, which directly affects the quality and stability of asphalt mixture. By analyzing the amount of residue on the screen, the test can effectively judge the adhesion of asphalt, and then provide a scientific basis for the production and construction of asphalt. This method has a wide range of practical value in the development and application of asphalt materials, which is helpful to improve the quality and durability of the project.
Residual amount test on the emulsified asphalt screen
Purpose and Scope of Application
The residual amount test on the emulsified asphalt screen is designed to determine the content of residues on the sieve of various emulsified asphalt to evaluate the quality of the asphalt emulsion. This method is suitable for the determination of the residue content on the sieve of various types of emulsified asphalt, and the standard sieve hole size is 1.18mm.
Technical requirements for instruments and materials
Filter sieve - the sieve hole is 1.18mm.
Metal disc – not less than 100mm in diameter.
Balance - inductance not more than 0.1g.
Beakers – 1 each for 750 mL and 2000 mL.
Sodium oleate solution – 2% content.
distilled water
Oven – fitted with temperature controller.
Others – including glass rods, solvents, dryers, etc.
Methods and Steps:
Preparation
The strainer, metal disc, beaker, etc. are cleaned with solvent, then washed with water and distilled water, and then dried at 105 °C ± 5 °C in an oven, and the mass of the filter and metal disc (m₁) is weighed, and the accuracy is 0.1g.
Test procedure
1. Weigh 500g±5g(m₂) of the fully stirred emulsified asphalt sample in a beaker to an accuracy of 0.01g.
2. Wet the screen with sodium oleate solution (anionic emulsion) or distilled water (cationic emulsion).
3. Place the sieve on the beaker and slowly inject the emulsion sample for filtration while stirring. If the sieve hole is blocked, gently tap the sieve frame to facilitate filtration.
4. After filtration, wash the beaker several times with distilled water, sieve the lotion solution, and then rinse the filter with distilled water until the filtered water is clean.
5. Place the filter sieve in a metal tray with weighed mass and dry it in an oven (105°C±5°C) for 2~4 hours.
6. Take out the filter sieve and put it in a dryer together with the metal disc to cool to room temperature (about 30 minutes), and then weigh its mass (m₃) to an accurate point of 0.1g.
report
At least two parallel tests are carried out on the same sample, and if the difference between the two test results is not more than 0.03%, the average value will be taken as the test result. The allowable error of the repeatability test is 0.03%, and the allowable error of the reproducibility test is 0.08%.
Adhesion test of emulsified asphalt to coarse aggregate
Purpose and Scope of Application
This method is suitable for testing the adhesion of various types of emulsified asphalt to the surface of coarse aggregate to evaluate the water peeling resistance of coarse aggregate.
Technical requirements for instruments and materials
Standard sieve - square hole sieve, 31.5mm, 19.0mm, 13.2mm.
Filter sieve - the sieve hole is 1.18mm, 0.6mm.
Beakers – 400mL, 1000mL.
Oven - with automatic temperature control regulator, temperature control range 105°C±5°C.
stopwatch
Balance - inductance not more than 0.1g.
Water – Distilled or purified water.
Crushed stone actually used in the project
Others – thin wire or wire, iron bracket, electric stove, glass rod, etc.
Test procedure
Preparation
Sift the aggregate, take 19.0~31.5mm particles, wash and put it into an oven at 105 °C ± 5 °C to dry for 3 hours.
Remove 5 aggregates from the oven, cool to room temperature, tie them with a thin wire or wire and hang them on a stand.
Test procedure
1. Take two beakers and fill them with 800mL of distilled water and 300mL of emulsion filtered through a 1.18mm strainer.
2. For cationic emulsified asphalt, after soaking the aggregate particles in water for 1 minute, immediately put them in the emulsified asphalt and soak them for 1 minute, and then suspend the aggregate at room temperature for 24 hours.
3. Lift the aggregates one by one with a thread, immerse them in the center of a large beaker filled with boiling water, keep them in a slightly boiling state for 3 minutes, and then take them out, and observe the coating area of the asphalt membrane on the coarse aggregate particles.
report
At least two parallel tests are performed on the same specimen, and the evaluation is based on the coating of the majority of the particles. The results of the test are reported in the form of more than 2/3 or less than 2/3 of the gravel area.
summary
The adhesion test of the remaining amount on the asphalt screen is an important part of ensuring the quality of asphalt materials. Through accurate testing methods, the adhesion and stability of asphalt can be judged, which provides an important reference for the production and construction of asphalt. This inspection not only helps to optimize material formulations, but also improves the quality and safety of the final project, which is worthy of widespread application in practical applications.
