From traditional glazing, solar coating, and self-cleaning windows to large-screen displays and tablet/phone touchscreens, glass is used in a wide variety of applications. As a result, their manufacturing processes are changing and becoming more complex, requiring their measurement and control.
Measuring the precise temperature of glass as it travels through a furnace, lehr or vacuum coater is key to ensuring finished product quality. This can only be achieved by using an in-line profiler such as the Datapaq® Furnace Tracker®. Testing temperature profiles with a Furnace Tracker system also helps reduce reject rates while maximizing yield and reducing energy costs.
The Datapaq Furnace Tracker system now has a new range of high temperature low height thermal barriers that, for the first time, allow users to test flat glass annealing profiles in furnaces with gaps as low as 30mm. For annealing furnaces and autoclaves, we have a variety of different thermal barriers, each optimized for different process conditions.
Vacuum coaters require a completely different approach to thermal protection, and the new VB Series Thermal Barriers provide just that. Used for applications from below 100°C up to 650°C for durations ranging from minutes to hours, these thermal barriers allow Datapaq systems to run through vacuum coaters and record precise temperature profiles of the glass at all stages of the process.
