Fineness meter selection method

Fineness measurement is to check the size or uniformity of dispersion of particles such as paint or paint paste interior (filler), expressed in μm

At present, the most commonly used to determine Coating fineness is the scraper Fineness Meter.

It consists of a polished flat plate and a scraper. There are one or two grooves parallel to the long side of the flat plate on the flat plate. The depth of the grooves decreases uniformly from one end to the other, and one end has a suitable depth (such as 25μm, 50μm, 100μm or 150μm), while the depth of the other end is O (that is, it is as flat as the surface of the flat plate), and the indexing is engraved according to the depth of the groove according to different specifications; the scraper has two kinds of single and double edges, and the blade is straight.

The measurement of fineness is partly related to the Fineness Meter used

There are several measuring ranges of Fineness Meters, so how to choose the right measurement range Fineness Meter?

A scraper Fineness Meter with a range of 50 μm should be applied when the fineness is 30 μm and below. A scraper Fineness Meter with a range of 100 μm should be applied when 31-70 μm, and a scraper Fineness Meter with a range of 150 μm should be applied when the fineness is above 70 μm.
