Definition of hair flower:
A smoky deposit on the surface of a coating, resembling a frosting on grapes, resulting in a dull and dull coating.
Possible causes:
During the curing or drying process, the coating is exposed to moisture condensation and humidity (commonly seen with ammonia-cured epoxies). Incorrect solvent mixing can also cause blooming of the coating.
How to prevent the phenomenon of coating blooming:
Coatings are applied and cured under correct environmental conditions or as recommended by the coating manufacturer.
How to repair coating blooming:
Remove blooming with a clean cloth or suitable solvent; if necessary use an intermediate/finish coat as recommended by the paint manufacturer.
