4. Measurement procedure
4.1 Take a sample of known thickness.
4.2 Press the "power button" to turn on the machine.
4.3 Press the "thickness key" to input the known thickness into the measurement table. After pressing the "thickness key", the thickness can be displayed on the display. Any known thickness can be changed from 0.80 to 50.00 mm by pressing the plus or minus key. The variable is 0.01 mm each time the plus or minus key is pressed; and, if pressed for more than 4 seconds, the variable is 0.1 mm; if pressed for more than 8 seconds, the variable is 1.00 mm; if pressed for more than 12 seconds, the variable is 10.0mm. Changed thicknesses are automatically saved in the table for later use.
4.4 Apply a little couplant on the material to be tested, and press the sensor well on the surface. If the coupling is good, the coupled symbol lights up. Shows the sound velocity reading of the measured material on the display. The reading will be held until the next measurement. The last value will be held until the power is turned off.
4.5 The instrument has two shutdown methods, manual shutdown by pressing the power button at any time, and automatic shutdown without pressing any button within 10 minutes.
4.6 How to turn off the buzzer sound? To turn off the beep, just press the plus and minus keys at the same time. Turn on the buzzer, and press the plus and minus keys at the same time again.
5. Calibration
5.1 Apply a little oil to the 5mm standard block.
5.2 Clamp the standard block with two probes, press the calibration key, the display will show the reading "2960 m/s" and the symbol "CAL".
6. Replace the battery
6.1 When the battery symbol appears on the display, it is time to replace the batteries.
6.2 Slide the battery cover to remove the battery from the instrument.
6.3 Pay attention to the polarity when installing the battery.
