Precautions for Drying Oven operation

Electric vacuum Drying Oven

The electric vacuum Drying Oven uses a Vacuum Pump and a heater to make the working room obtain a vacuum and a working temperature (the maximum temperature is generally 200°C), and is used for rapid vacuum drying treatment of samples that cannot be directly dried at high temperature in the air.

The Drying Oven is generally a horizontal cylindrical box made of thin steel plate. The inner layer is the studio, which is cylindrical in shape, and there is a partition for placing the test sample inside. The insulation layer is between the studio and the outer shell, and glass fiber is used as the thermal insulation material. The door is equipped with a glass observation window. In order to ensure the tightness of the door and the box body, four bakelite fastening handles are set, and heat-resistant rubber is used as the sealing pressure pad of the door. The heating wire is placed under the studio, and its work is controlled by the electronic tube temperature controller. The temperature controller, indicator light, and switch knob are placed at the lower part of the box. The vacuum gauge is installed on the back side of the box and connected to the Vacuum Pump through a vacuum rubber tube.

The temperature sensing element and its working principle adopted by the automatic temperature controller are basically the same as those of the electric Drying Oven.

The use and precautions of the electric vacuum Drying Oven are as follows

① The vacuum Drying Oven should be placed horizontally in a dry place indoors without using other fixing devices.

② A socket for this box and a knife switch for the Vacuum Pump should be installed in the power supply line.

③Before use, clean up the sundries and dust in the box.

④ After putting in the test product, close the airtight door, and tighten the four Bakelite fastening handles. Note that the door of the box should be kept upright and flat, so as to ensure good sealing performance.

⑤ Connect the air valve nozzle under the vacuum gauge to the suction pipe head of the Vacuum Pump with a vacuum hose, and pay attention to no air leakage at the joint. In order to prevent moisture gas from entering the Vacuum Pump and affecting the vacuum degree, it is better to bridge the filter between the vacuum drying box and the Vacuum Pump.

⑥ Turn on the power switch and Vacuum Pump motor switch.

⑦If the Drying Oven uses a bimetallic rod as the temperature sensing element, after the above work is completed, slowly rotate the knob of the thermostatic controller clockwise along the reference scale 0~10 on the nameplate, the indicator light will light up, and the working room will start to heat up. When it rises to a certain temperature, the indicator light is off and on alternately, which is the constant temperature point. After the temperature in the box is stable, observe the temperature reading from the thermometer. If the temperature still does not reach the required working temperature, The knob of the thermostat controller can be adjusted again to reach the desired working temperature.

If the electric contact mercury thermometer is used as the temperature sensing element, it is only necessary to adjust the temperature of the mercury contact to the required working temperature.

⑧ After the work is finished, cut off the power immediately. When the test product needs to be taken out, the air should enter the room slowly, and do not rush to prevent the pointer of the vacuum gauge from affecting its accuracy due to impact.

⑨No volatile and explosive items should be placed in the drying box studio. When dealing with flammable materials, it is necessary to wait for the temperature to cool below the combustion point before putting in air, so as to avoid the danger of explosion due to oxidation reaction.
