The electric heating constant temperature Water Bath is a low temperature heating equipment in the laboratory, which is often used to heat and evaporate volatile and flammable organic solvents and conduct constant temperature experiments with a temperature below 100 °C.
The electric constant temperature Water Bath is a double-layer box-type heating device inside and outside. The panel is a single layer. There are a certain number of holes (hole diameter: 12cm) according to different specifications. Each hole is equipped with four metal (copper, aluminum or stainless steel) ferrules. And small caps, optional ferrules can accommodate heated instruments of different sizes. If the holes and holes are arranged in the word "one", it is called a single-row electric hot Water Bath; if they are arranged in parallel, it is called a double-row electric hot Water Bath. The single row Water Bath has four specifications of 2 holes, 4 holes, 6 holes and 8 holes; the double row type has three specifications of 4 holes, 6 holes and 8 holes, and the power has 500W, 1000W, 1500W, 2000W and other specifications.
The electric Water Bath is divided into inner and outer layers, and the inner layer is stamped from a whole piece of poor copper plate (or aluminum plate, stainless steel plate). The outer shell is usually made of thin steel plate (or stainless collar plate), and the surface is painted. Insulation materials such as glass wool are filled between the inner layer and the outer shell interlayer. A copper tube is installed at the bottom of the tank, and an electric furnace wire is installed in the tube as a heating element. Temperature controllers generally use expansion contact control methods such as collar steel type, glass rod type or bimetallic sheet type. Some products use thermal elements as electronic temperature controllers for temperature probes.
There are power switch, temperature adjustment knob and indicator light on the side of the Water Bath. There is a water discharge gang door on the lower side of the Water Tank. A thermometer can be inserted into the upper side of the Water Tank. The constant temperature range of the electric Water Bath is usually 40~100°C, and the temperature difference is ±1°C.
The use and precautions of electric heating constant temperature Water Bath are as follows
① The electric heating constant temperature Water Bath should be placed on a horizontal table, the power supply uses a three-prong socket, and the middle one is effectively grounded.
②Close the water discharge valve, add clean water to the inner pot, the amount of water added is about 2/3 of the volume of the inner pot. In order to shorten the heating time, you can also add an appropriate amount of hot water according to the required temperature.
③Insert a 0~100°C thermometer into the cork or rubber stopper, and then insert it into the thermometer socket on the panel. The lower end of the thermometer is about 2cm away from the shelf.
④ Turn on the power, the power indicator light is on (green). Turn the temperature adjustment knob clockwise and place it on an appropriate scale. At this time, the heating indicator light is on (red), the electric heating tube in the Water Bath is powered on, and the water starts to heat up .
Observe the thermometer, if the water temperature in the pot does not reach the predetermined temperature, but the red indicator light is off, you can turn the temperature adjustment knob clockwise again to make the red light turn on again, and the electric heating tube continues to be energized for heating.
If the index value of the thermometer rises to a difference of 2°C from the required temperature, turn the temperature adjustment knob in reverse until the red light goes out, and then the red light turns on and off intermittently, indicating that the controller is active. At this time, adjust the temperature adjustment knob slightly , to reach a predetermined constant temperature.
⑤ Do not pour water into the electrical box, so as not to cause mixed electricity and damage electrical components.
⑥ After use, turn off the power switch. If it is not used for a long time, drain all the water and dry it.
