The difference between Xenon lamp aging chamber and UV aging chamber

As we all know, today's industry has reached a rapid development trend, and for the durability of products, aging resistance, weather resistance testing, aging Test Chambers have become popular and become the focus of industrial manufacturers and environmental testing industries. At present, the aging Test Chamber is used to quickly simulate the damage caused by different climate changes in nature, so as to test the aging resistance of the product, improve the production quality, and improve the product quality.

According to market research and analysis, the most widely used aging chambers are xenon lamp aging chambers and ultraviolet aging chambers. However, many users are not very familiar with the xenon lamp aging box and the ultraviolet aging box, let alone their unique functions and differences, let’s read together to understand.

First of all, the xenon lamp aging box actually reproduces the full-spectrum sunlight realistically by using a xenon arc lamp tube. Through accurate simulation, it reproduces the damage caused to the product by the outdoor environment for several months or years, so as to test the weather resistance and aging resistance of the product.

The difference between the xenon lamp aging box and the ultraviolet aging box is shown in Figure 1

Secondly, the ultraviolet aging box uses fluorescent ultraviolet lamps for testing, which is more stable and can get more repeatable test results. It is a wide range of aging testing machines.

UV aging box

As for the difference between the xenon lamp aging box and the ultraviolet aging box, in fact, both the xenon arc aging box and the ultraviolet aging box can effectively realize the temperature, humidity, light, and rain tests, but the difference is that the ultraviolet aging box can also Simulate critical short-wave UV rays to truly reproduce physical damage caused by sunlight, such as: fading, loss of gloss, chalking, cracking, cracking, blurring, blistering, embrittlement, strength loss and oxidation.

In addition, the compliance standards are also different. The xenon lamp aging box conforms to GB/T16422.2, and the ultraviolet aging box conforms to GB/T16422.3.

Of course, the difference between the xenon lamp aging box and the ultraviolet aging box will vary with different models of different series. Take the well-known brand Q-LAB as an example. Both the xenon lamp aging chamber and the ultraviolet aging chamber belong to the Q-LAB brand, but they are different series of Test Chambers. The xenon lamp aging box is Q-SUN, while the ultraviolet aging box is QUV. There are different types of test boxes under the Q-SUN and QUV series, and their functional characteristics are also different.
