What is the difference between the RAL CLASSIC colors and the RAL DESIGN SYSTEM colors?

The RAL classic series is a collection of colors developed in response to industry requirements, and the RAL design system is a color system based on the internationally recognized CIELab system, including 1,625 colors. The color code of the RAL DESIGN SYSTEM is 7 digits, while the color code of the RAL CLASSIC series is 4 digits.

What is the difference between a 4-digit RAL color and a 4-digit color with "-M" at the end?

The RAL 4-digit code colors followed by a dash "-" are from the RAL EFFECT series, while the regular 4-digit code colors are from the RAL CLASSIC series. The color with "-M" is the metallic color in the RAL Practical series, which is represented by the corresponding color code among the 420 solid colors.

How are the RAL CLASSIC colors composed?

The RAL classic series currently consists of 213 colors, including 2 mica iron oxide colors, 5 daylight bright colors, and 15 pearlescent colors. All the colors used in this collection have no commercial purpose and are not affected by fashion trends. For example: RAL 5002 is THW blue, that is: the blue of the German Federal Government Technical Assistance Agency.

Does the Raul Classic range include camouflage colors for German troops?

Not included. The colors of the German army are separated independently. The following colors are currently camouflage:
