Fineness of Architectural coatings

The fineness of architectural coatings refers to the thickness of architectural coatings measured by a scraper Fineness Meter during the production process or the smoothness of the surface of architectural coatings after drying and forming a film. It is an important indicator According to the provisions of 1 Water-soluble Interior Wall Coatings" <Ministry Approval Standards>, the fineness of interior wall coatings should be below 100 microns. Interior wall coatings are used for interior decoration, requiring harmonious color, smooth film formation, flat visual inspection, cocoon-free, and no rough tentacles. For this reason, fineness control is very important. If the fineness is more than 100 microns, it is easy to produce precipitation, and the inner wall will feel rough when painted. The fineness is below 100 microns, especially around 80 microns, which can expand the brushing area.

However, the fineness control of interior wall coatings in CHINA has not attracted enough attention. According to the report of the Fujian Provincial Building Materials Quality Supervision and Inspection Center Station, the sampling inspection of polyethylene water glass inner coatings in the fourth quarter of 1988 showed that the unqualified rate of fineness reached 66.79%. According to a recent report, Jiangsu Provincial Architectural Coating Quality Supervision and Inspection Station conducted a sampling inspection of 109 manufacturers, and the unqualified rate of fineness was 63.1%. The main reason for the award is that the manufacturers will use necessary grinding equipment in the future. Some enterprises do not have grinding equipment and use high-speed stirring to disperse. Although some enterprises have grinding equipment, the operator controls it properly and does not control the fineness. Some companies use limb mills instead of Grinders, or use sieves to filter, while some companies pursue economic benefits one-sidedly, ignore the quality of coatings, and do not organize production strictly according to standard requirements. It can be seen that to improve the quality of paint and control the fineness index, a sand mill is required. In order to ensure the fineness index, it is necessary to carefully control the paint flow rate when using the sand mill, so as to improve the reputation of architectural paint.
