Maintenance recommendations for marine paint:
1. Derusting problem: The surface of the steel plate should be clean and effective, and the steel plate should be whitened with a wire brush.
2. Can't cover each other: You can't cover the top coat with primer, and you can't cover the old paint with new paint.
3. The thickness of the paint film should be thin, and more thinners should be added. Prevent wastage.
4. The rust-removed interface should have a smooth transition, and there should be no obvious paint shoulders.
5. After the primer is applied, the topcoat should be applied no later than 24 hours to prevent air from entering and oxidizing, which will destroy the protective effect of the paint. This is the minimum requirement, and the specific paint should be subject to the paint job specification.
6. When coating polyurethane paint, one coating should not be too thick, otherwise air bubbles and pinholes will easily occur. The recoating interval should be determined according to the instructions, and the interval should not be too long, otherwise the cross-linking between the coatings will be poor and the adhesion will be reduced. The long-cured paint film must be sanded or wiped with a solvent before painting. Try to avoid painting polyurethane paint in rainy days or high temperature and high humidity in summer and low temperature and high humidity in winter, otherwise, the coating film will be "whitened". If it has to be painted in the above-mentioned environment, it can be prevented by adding an appropriate amount of PU anti-whitening agent to the paint, or properly heating the coated substrate to evaporate water vapor.
