Shat blasting strength measurement method

This appendix provides the test method for controlling the shot peening intensity when the workpiece is sprayed.

The specific operation is as follows:

Preparation of c1 sample

Cut the carbon plate with a hardness of HV30400 to HV30500 and a thickness of 1.6mm into a size of 75minx(20±0.2)mm, and then grind it to a thickness of 1.3±0.02mm. After the sample is prepared, measure the flatness of the sample and measure the core C3, the arc height should not exceed 38µm.

c2 fixture assembly and shot peening

As shown in Figure c1, the sample is fastened in the fixture, the fixture body is a tool example, and the exposed surface is shot-peened. The shot-peening time and shot-peening conditions are the same as those of the electroplated workpiece.

The measurement method of shot peening intensity is shown in Figure 1

c3 measure arc height

After peening, remove the sample from the fixture and measure the curvature of the unpeened surface with a depth gauge. The sample is supported by 4 balls with a diameter of 5mm to form a rectangle of 32mmx16mm. On the sample, the center needle of the gauge is aligned with the center of the sample. On the measuring length of 32mm, measure the arc height at the center of the sample. The measurement is accurate to 25µm, and the measurement results should meet the requirements of the arc height value specified in 6.3.1, otherwise the shot peening conditions should be adjusted to obtain the required arc height value.
