The grinding effect of different grinding media in sand mill

Lu Bocen, Li Haifeng, Jiang Jimin, and Shen Yanfei from Shanghai Kailin Paint Factory used three kinds of grinding materials: domestic glass beads , imported sharp beads and imported zirconia beads ( also known as ceramic grinding balls) with a content of 58%. Conduct experiments to observe the grinding efficiency to accumulate process parameters. During the test, the "Blue-devil" high-speed paint testing machine was used for grinding and dispersing, and finally the effect after grinding was tested with a fineness plate. The experimental results show that the grinding effect of imported zirconia beads is better than that of domestic ordinary glass beads. The grinding effect is related to the specific gravity, hardness and compressive strength of the grinding beads.
