Effect of acrylic resin on the performance of PVDF topcoat

Su Di, a scholar from Shanghai Zhenhua Paint Factory, studied the effect of acrylic resin on the performance of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) topcoat in his paper "The Effect of Acrylic Resin on the Performance of PVDF Topcoat". Finally, it is considered that most acrylic resins are miscible with PVDF resins, but the H atoms on PVDF resins form hydrogen , which determines the miscibility of the two. The presence of strong hydrogen bond donors will destroy the hydrogen bonds formed by PVDF resin, reduce the miscibility of PVDF resin and acrylic resin, and reflect the increase of thixotropy. Although the ability of acrylic resin and PVDF resin to form hydrogen bonds is different, since the main component of the film-forming substance is PVDF resin, the entire coating still reflects the inherent excellent performance of PVDF.
