As a new environmentally friendly coating system - water-based two-component polyurethane is a soft-feeling coating with high mechanical properties. In order to help users have a better understanding of the chemical composition and physical properties of water-based soft-touch coating systems, Li Jinqi from the Shanghai Polymer Research and Development Center of Bayer MaterialScience Co. 》, which mainly introduces the chemical reaction principle of water-based two-component soft-touch coatings, and studies the changes of water content and NCO value in the coatings under different process conditions, and then compares the atomization value and performance of different coatings.
The results of the study found that the water-based soft-touch coating was baked at 80°C for 10 minutes, all the water in the coating could be volatilized, and 13% of the –NCO groups reacted. Compared with other paints, the water-based soft-feel paint has the lowest , better hand feeling, adhesion reaches level 0, and solvent resistance and abrasion resistance reach the level of solvent-based soft-feel paint.
