Resin superhydrophobic nano-titanium dioxide coating and its prepative performance

The superhydrophobic coating constructed on the metal surface can make it have good corrosion resistance, flow drag reduction and surface self-cleaning performance, so it has a wide range of application prospects in the coating of ships, ship shells, pipelines, automobiles and aircraft.

Ma Li and other scholars introduced the preparation and performance testing experiments of our nano-titanium dioxide/fluororesin superhydrophobic coating in their paper "Preparation and Performance of Nano-TiO2/Fluororesin Superhydrophobic Coating". Through rutile nano- TiO2 and Fluorocarbon coatings were prepared with self-made fluororesin, and a superhydrophobic coating was constructed on the surface of iron sheets by brushing. The basic properties of the coatings were measured: adhesion, acid and alkali resistance, scrub resistance, water resistance, etc. The effects of the amount of nano-TiO2 and fluororesin, heat treatment temperature, etc. on the hydrophobicity of the coating were further investigated, and the microstructure, hydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties of the coating surface were observed and tested by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and contact angle measuring instrument. sex.

Experimental results:

The water contact angle on the coating surface increases with the increase of the amount of fluororesin, and increases first and then decreases with the increase of the amount of nano-TiO2. The water absorption of the coating decreased with the increase of the amount of fluororesin, and showed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing with the increase of the amount of nano-TiO2. With the increase of heat treatment temperature, the water contact angle of the coating first increases and then decreases, and the water absorption first decreases and then increases. The good process conditions are that the mass fractions of TiO2 and fluororesin are 12% and 40% respectively, and the heat treatment temperature is 170 °C. The surface of the coating obtained under this condition has a micro/nano binary rough structure with a static contact angle of 152° to water. It is a super-hydrophobic coating and has excellent water resistance, acid and alkali resistance, scrub resistance, stain resistance and self- cleaning performance.
