The illuminance and distribution of the working surface and the surrounding area mainly affect how to identify quickly, safely and comfortably. All illuminance values specified in this standard are the maintenance illuminance values on the reference surface, and provide guarantees for visual safety and visual efficacy during work.
Recommended Work Area Lighting
The values given in the illuminance table are the maintenance illuminance on the reference plane of the whole work area, and the illuminance on this reference plane can be horizontal plane, vertical plane and inclined plane. The average illuminance shall not be lower than the value in the table, which has nothing to do with age and installation conditions. This value applies to normal visual conditions and takes into account the following factors:
Visual work requirements:
safety;
Psychophysiological aspects such as visual comfort and maintaining well-being;
economy;
Experience.
The illuminance value can be adjusted. If the visual conditions are different from the normal use conditions, adjust at least one level according to the intensity level; when the following conditions are met, the illuminance should be increased:
When working with unusually low contrast;
When the visual work has strict requirements;
When the cost of correcting errors is high;
When precision or high productivity are important;
When the visual ability of the worker is below normal ability.
The required maintenance illuminance may be reduced under the following conditions:
When parts are of unusually large size or contrast;
when working for an unusually short period of time;
In the continuous working area, the maintenance illuminance should not be less than 2001x.
Illuminance Classification
The illuminance level difference is selected according to the difference of approximately 1.5 times. Under normal lighting conditions, the horizontal illuminance of about 201x can just recognize the features of the face, and use this as the lowest value of the illuminance level.
The recommended illuminance value levels are:
20-30-35-50-75-100-150-200-300-500-750-1000-1500-2000-3000-5000Ix
Illumination in the vicinity of the surrounding area
The illuminance of the adjacent surrounding area should be related to the illuminance of the work area and provide a well-balanced luminance distribution within the field of view.
Around workspaces, rapid changes in illuminance can cause visual irritation and discomfort.
Evenness
Uniformity of illuminance is the ratio of the minimum value to the average value, and its uniformity should not be less than 0.7, while the uniformity of illuminance in the adjacent area should not be less than 0.5.
