Test Instrument: SITA CleanoSpector (SITA Surface Cleanliness Tester)
Test Mode: Fluorescence Level (RFU Relative Fluorescence Units)
Samples: Metal rings, complete parts
Contaminants: Oils exposed during production
SITA CleanoSpector reading modes
The SITA CleanoSpector will have 2 different reading modes. The first readout mode "cleanliness" is a percentage, which shows the percentage value of the cleanliness of the sample surface relative to the cleanliness value of the satisfactory clean calibration piece. The higher the percentage value, the cleaner it is. The second readout mode is FluoLevel, which is relative fluorescence intensity, and its unit is RFU. The higher the RFU value, the stronger the surface is contaminated by fluorescent substances. This test report uses the FluoLevel mode to test the cleanliness of the samples.
Table 1 Tested metal ring

sensor location

The instrument can measure the cleanliness of the inner surface of the metal ring from 9mm from the edge, while the partially mounted part sample can be measured only 4mm from the edge.
The measurement is independent of the installation, incident irradiance is reflected by the surface of the sample into the sensor and causes an alarm message. In this case, the reflected intensity of light is reduced by masking or dimming.
Clean one of the metal rings
The metal ring was cleaned in an ultrasonic Water Bath at 60°C using an alkaline cleaner SurTec 151 (3%), rinsed with deionized water and dried. The measured fluorescence value of the cleaned metal ring was 0.5 RFU (compared with other samples for reference).
Test Results
Shown in Fig. 3 is the measurement result of all samples.

evaluate
Various pollutants inside the metal ring can be measured through the SITA CleanoSpector (SITA surface cleanliness meter), which can measure the fluorescence value from the inner surface 9mm away from the edge of the metal ring to detect the cleanliness inside the metal ring. The test results show that the fluorescence values of the metal rings are all high. Fluorescence values depend on the type and concentration of pollutants at the measurement point. The average fluorescence readings for the other metal rings from 548.9 RFU to 815.8 RFU are very high relative to the intact part with a fluorescence value of 11.6 RFU and the metal ring washed as a reference control with a fluorescence value of 0.5 RFU
