The fluorescent substances used in fluorescent paint are organic substances called daylight fluorescent paint pigments. Daylight fluorescent paint pigments are mainly synthetic resin solid solutions dyed with fluorescent dyes. As a synthetic resin for fluorescent dye carriers , polymethacrylate, polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride copolymer, alkyd resin, aryl sulfone amide, melamine resin , guanamine resin, polyamide resin, styrene resin and their copolymers. Fluorescent dyes are sulfo bright yellow pigment FF, fluoro golden light green, bright yellow 6C, rhodamine and so on.
Phosphorescent paint is to match the phosphor with the carrier, and then mix it when it is used. Among the inorganic phosphors, those with long afterglow and phosphor effect include zinc sulfide-copper phosphors, calcium sulfide-bismuth phosphors, and the like. Inorganic phosphors are crystals that emit light, and crushing the crystals under pressure will reduce the brightness of the light, so it cannot be tumbled during processing. The film-forming carrier can be solvent-based paint resins such as alkyd resin and petroleum resin, or powder luminous paint made of polyolefin as a carrier .
It is one of the development directions of phosphorescent coatings to develop long-lasting, high-brightness phosphorescent coatings. The afterglow time of the practical phosphorescent coatings currently reported can reach 8-12 hours, and the luminous brightness does not decrease after long-term use. In addition, the preparation of solar light-storing coatings with water-soluble resins (polyvinyl alcohol, etc.) is receiving attention. The preparation of luminescent pigments and the development of feasible luminescent pigment coating technology have become important research topics.
