At present, there are two color standards most used in CHINA: one is the internationally accepted RAL color scale system, and the other is the national standard GB/T 3181—1995 "Paint Film Color Standard" (the Color Chart is GSB G51 001). There is no strict correspondence. If the customer and the paint supplier use different color standards, it is easy to have a color difference, so it is recommended to use the Color Chart provided by the paint supplier directly when determining the color of the paint. In addition, each paint supplier generally has its own set of color codes. If the paint supplier's own color code is different from the RAL or national standard, it will be more complicated and more likely to cause problems. Therefore, it is necessary for standard-setting units to do a good job in the transformation and unification of various standards to facilitate the communication and construction of relevant units.
In addition, the author found a problem in the process of using the GSB G51 001 Color Chart: maybe because GB/T 3181 is formulated according to the three-color color standard system, it is impossible to make an accurate definition of black and white, only black and white are specified There is no black and white in the Color Chart for comparison. However, in practical applications, white and black are widely used, which creates an embarrassing situation. Once the customer requests the use of white or black paint, the national standard cannot provide the corresponding Color Chart, and the paint user has no standard to follow. Only the RAL color scale or the paint supplier's own color scale can be used, which greatly limits the scope of application of GB/T 3181 and affects the credibility of the national standard. It is a pity that the commonly used black and white are not stipulated in the national standard, and I hope that the standard-setting unit can formulate corresponding standards to solve it.
