Paint film thickness can be divided into wet film thickness and dry film thickness, which can be obtained from the calculation formula of volume solid content. The volume solid content of the coating product is certain, and the dry film thickness in the coating package is also specified, so the corresponding wet film thickness can be calculated. Knowing the corresponding wet film thickness, you can use a clear film meter to control its dry film thickness during construction.
In actual construction, a certain amount of diluent is often added to the paint. The use of diluent increases the volume total but not the volume solids. The diluted wet film thickness is calculated according to the following formula:

The thickness of the applied paint film should not exceed the minimum and maximum film thickness range specified in the instruction manual. Too low will cause poor coverage or poor anti-rust and anti-corrosion effects. Too thick will cause sagging and other paint film defects, and even damage the performance decline.
