Rolling advantages and disadvantages

Sticks are much lighter than brushes when coating large surfaces and can be used to apply most decorative finishes. However, the thickness of the paint film is not easy to control when stick coating, so it is necessary to choose a stick with a suitable hair thickness according to different coating types.

The stick barrel is composed of a stick core and a paint-containing layer. There are two types of varnish coatings, fiber and sponge varnish coatings. The fibrous paint-containing layer is made of natural or synthetic fibres. The natural fibers are mainly wool, while the synthetic fibers are nylon, polyester and so on. Fiber lengths are divided into long hair, medium hair and short hair. The hair length of the long-haired paint-containing layer is about 18~30mm, which is used for painting rough surfaces;

The hair length of the medium hair paint layer is 10~17mm, which is general-purpose; the hair length of the short hair paint layer is 2~9mm, which is used in occasions with high decorative requirements for the paint film.

When stick coating, the stick rolls across the surface in a crossing motion to evenly distribute the paint on the surface. Normally the paint is applied and terminated in this manner, but the roll can also be stopped vertically or horizontally across the surface if desired. Many modern thick film coatings are not suitable for brush application because of the difficulty in achieving a uniform film.

The sticks should be cleaned immediately after use. Problems with the use of spoke tubes often arise from their cleanliness, management techniques and maintenance. Sticks are not good at getting paint into sunken areas or removing fluffy dust and grime residue from surfaces.

North and South Chao reminds you: Stick coating is not suitable for the construction of the first paint, mainly because the permeability of stick coating is not good, and it is easy to trap air in the coating film, rough surface troughs or recesses of steel.
