How to make a coating scrub resistance test?

The (wet) scrubbing (brushing) resistance of the coating is an important indicator of interior wall architectural coatings, which is related to the types of main film-forming substances in the coating, the composition of the coating, and the solid content . It can be tested with a special scrubbing resistance instrument, or manually. The test result is expressed by the number of scrubbing times (before the coating film is exposed). The manual test method is as follows:

Use a 150 mm x 100 mm tin plate (or asbestos cement board, glass plate ), after the paint is completely dry, immerse in water at a temperature of 15-20 ℃ for 5 minutes, and rub the paint film vigorously with a brush for 1 minute. Then let the test panel stand for 1 minute, and repeat the cycle operation (the brush must be wetted), so that the total friction time on the paint film is 12 minutes. After the test, check for changes in the gloss and color of the paint film, and whether the paint film has moved, damaged or exposed.
