Concept and Structure of High Pressure Homogenizer

What is a high pressure homogenizer?

The high-pressure homogenizer is a mechanism that uses a high-pressure reciprocating pump as the power to transmit and transport materials, and transports liquid materials or solid particles with liquid as a carrier to the working valve (primary homogenizing valve and secondary homogenizing valve) part. To deal with the strong shearing, impact, cavitation and turbulent swirling action under high pressure when the material passes through the working valve, so that the liquid material or solid particles with liquid as the carrier can be ultra-fine, "uniform "Quality" refers to the process of refinement and uniform mixing of materials in the homogenization valve. The high-pressure homogenizer is a special equipment and key equipment for the homogenization and refinement of liquid materials and high-pressure transportation.

Structure of high pressure homogenizer

The high-pressure homogenizer is a reciprocating pump, and its basic structure is shown in Figure 1. The common one is multi (three) plunger reciprocating pump, which is mainly composed of transmission system, plunger pump, homogenizing valve and other parts.

The concept and structure of the high pressure homogenizer are shown in Figure 1

1 transmission part

The transmission part is composed of motor, pulley, gearbox, crankshaft, connecting rod, plunger and so on. The high-speed rotary motion of the motor is converted into low-speed reciprocating linear motion through the crankshaft linkage mechanism and the gearbox. In practice, two-stage speed change is adopted, that is, pulley and gear speed change are better. After the speed is changed, the speed of the plunger's reciprocating motion is controlled at 130-170 r/min. At this speed, the machine operates stably, with low noise, and the plunger and its seal have good durability.

2 plunger pumps

The basic structure of the high-pressure homogenizer is shown in Figure 2. The piston drives the plunger to reciprocate in the pump body. With the cooperation of the one-way valve, the process of suction and pressurization is completed, and then enters the collecting pipe.

3 Homogenizing valve

The homogenizing valve accepts the high-pressure liquid material delivered by the manifold to complete the tasks of ultra-fine crushing, emulsification and homogenization. It has a two-stage homogenizing valve and a two-stage pressure regulating device, and is a special component for superfine pulverization, emulsification, and homogenization, as shown in Figure 3. The materials in the valve that are in contact with the feed liquid need to be harmless, non-polluting, wear-resistant, impact-resistant, acid-resistant, alkali-resistant, and corrosion-resistant.

Pressure indication usually uses a pointer shock-resistant pressure gauge. In order to prevent the pressure gauge from being out of control and damaging the equipment during use, it is often equipped with an ammeter for simultaneous monitoring. Under the condition of 380V voltage, when the machine is running normally, the rated flow, pressure, power and current are proportional.

Figure 4 shows a three-plunger reciprocating pump. In Fig. 4, the plunger pump of the common three-piston reciprocating pump is composed of 3 working chambers, 3 plungers, 3 one-way inlet valves and three one-way outlet valves. The three working chambers are not connected to each other, but the feed pipe and the discharge pipe are connected. In the design, the crankshaft makes the phase difference of the connecting rod 120°. They are connected in parallel to make the discharge flow basically balanced.
