Membrane material is a new generation of composite material with high-strength fiber fabric as the skeleton material and coated with high-performance coating material. It is known as the "fifth generation building material" in the construction industry. The article "Progress in Research on Aging Properties of PVC Coating Membrane Materials" elaborates on the research on the aging properties of PVC-coated membrane materials that are currently the most widely used.
The article first briefly summarizes the aging mechanism of PVC, including thermo-oxidative aging, photo-oxidative aging and chemical degradation, and analyzes the influence of stress on material aging. Furthermore, two types of aging test methods and standards are mainly introduced: natural atmospheric exposure and artificial accelerated aging. Among them, artificial accelerated aging is divided into aging tests with different light sources, artificial accelerated aging tests with xenon lamp as light source, artificial accelerated aging test with fluorescent ultraviolet lamp as light source, artificial accelerated aging test with sunlight carbon arc lamp as light source and other tests. Furthermore, the detection and analysis methods used in the aging test are described and compared and summarized. Finally, the research status and existing problems of the correlation between the artificial accelerated aging test and natural aging results of PVC coating film materials were analyzed; the key directions of research on the aging performance of PVC coating film materials were prospected.
