The scraper Fineness Meter is a precision instrument used to check the size or dispersion uniformity of particles such as paint, color paint or paint paste, inner color (filler), that is, to detect the fineness. The fineness of the coating can affect the gloss, appearance, corrosion resistance and storage stability of the coating.
How to use the Fineness Meter
1. The scraper fineness gauge needs to be cleaned and dried with solvent before use, and a soft cloth should be used for scrubbing.
2. During operation, drop the sample into the deepest part of the groove (it is advisable to fill the groove with a little excess), hold the scraper with both hands, and place it horizontally on the upper end of the polished plate (at the edge of the sample), so that the scraper and the The polished flat surface is in vertical contact.
3. Within 3 seconds, pull the scraper from the deep part of the groove to the shallow part, so that the paint sample fills the groove without leaving any residual paint on the plate. Immediately (not more than 5s) after the scraper is pulled, make the line of sight and the groove plane form an angle of 15°~30°, and observe the scale line (accurate to the minimum division value) where the particles in the groove are evenly exposed to the light. If there are individuals exposed on other graduation lines, there shall not be more than 3 particles within the range of the reading and adjacent graduation lines.

How to read the fineness gauge
Immediately after scraping (no more than 3s), set the line of sight at an angle of 20-30 degrees to the board surface, observe the point where the particles in the groove are densely packed against the light, and record the reading (accurate to the minimum graduation value).
Observe the place where the dense particles appear in the sample, and look for a 3mm wide strip with no more than 5-10 particles. The upper limit reading of the strip is the fineness value. Particles may not be considered.
