The production equipment of a general architectural coatings factory includes dispersing equipment (including dispersing and grinding equipment), conveying equipment, blending equipment and auxiliary equipment.
Dispersion equipment includes high-speed mixer, sand mill, colloid mill, three-roll mill, etc.
The conveying equipment is mainly a gear pump, which is used to transport materials in and out of the dispersion equipment and blending equipment. Since architectural coatings contain a large amount of extender pigments and have high viscosity, large radial force will be generated during transportation, and the wear will be aggravated, so the inner circular arc gear pump should be selected.
Blending equipment is the equipment used in the last step of dispersing the pigment slurry in the base material to make the paint. The structure of the blending equipment is relatively simple, mainly composed of various forms of stirring devices and a cylindrical blending tank. Therefore, generally, containers with stirring devices can be used as blending equipment. The stirring blades have various structural forms such as paddle type, propulsion type, frame type and turbine type. The blending tank of the blending equipment has two forms, fixed and flowing, according to its volume and the size of the production batch. The latter is commonly known as the can. Auxiliary equipment is kneader, mortar mixer, scale, pusher, crane, boiler, etc.
Architectural coating factories do not need to have all the above equipment, most of the cases only need some of the equipment, among which high-speed mixer is required; if all ultra-fine pigments and fillers are used, grinding equipment may not be needed. As a paint factory, it is better to have equipment for the three procedures of pulping, grinding and preparing paint to meet the needs of producing different grades of paint.

With the rapid development of architectural coatings in our country, the production equipment has also been continuously innovated, and great progress has been made, and some new products or new supporting equipment have been introduced. Such as integrated coating equipment, grinding, dispersing, vacuum suction, vacuum defoaming, semi-automatic filling and other complete technological processes, from feeding to finished products are completed in one process; new basket grinding system, new double-shaft high-speed mixer, double-shaft Shaft double-speed mixers have come out, reforming the production process and greatly improving production efficiency.
