The electrode is a key component of the trace moisture analyzer, and the contamination of the electrode surface can directly lead to a decrease in sensitivity. Therefore, the maintenance of the electrode of the trace moisture analyzer is very important.
When the sensitivity is reduced and the electrode is seriously polluted. You can wipe the electrode with a little acetone on paper, but you need to be careful, and you need to wait for the acetone to evaporate completely before using it. Or immerse the electrode in dilute nitric acid solution for 24 hours, then take it out, rinse it with clean water, and wipe it with filter paper. It can also be cleaned with potassium dichromate solution for 1 minute to activate the electrode. In special cases, if the sample is waiting to be analyzed and the time for cleaning the electrode is not allowed, then urgent measures can be used to solve the event of electrode contamination. Gently rub both ends of the electrode with very fine sandpaper, wipe off the filter paper, and it will be effective.
If the instrument is not used for a period of time, all the Karl Fischer reagents in the electrolytic cell should be drained to avoid clogging the pipeline due to crystallization caused by reagent volatilization, and the electrodes should be wiped clean. It can often be found in the testing of the instrument that the relevant operators are not aware of the problems that should be closely related to the maintenance and measurement accuracy of the instrument after the sample measurement is completed and the power is turned off.
