Abstract This paper introduces the method of using temperature-indicating materials to monitor the electrical connection parts of the main conductive circuit of catenary, which is a reference for personnel engaged in catenary operation and maintenance.

The main conductive circuit of the power supply is the main circuit for the power supply equipment to supply power. Due to the large power flow, equipment burns and disconnection accidents caused by poor electrical connections during the operation of catenary equipment often occur. Due to the large scope of damage, disconnection accidents have become the most harmful type of accidents among all kinds of catenary accidents. Since there is no reliable monitoring method for the electrical connection status in daily maintenance, such accidents cannot be effectively controlled and have a great impact on power supply. In June 2000, we used temperature-indicating materials to monitor the electrical connection status of catenary equipment, and achieved good results.
