For users requiring traceable calibration, Ion Science Ltd recommends annual service and calibration. During the maintenance period, both the indicator light and the Detector will be reset to the factory technical parameters, and the new factory calibration data will be saved.
Ion Science PID Detectors use a linear output, and usually a two-point calibration is sufficient. The TIGERLT adjusts the linear output from zero (clean air reference) to a custom gas concentration in span 1.
TIGERLT provides two calibration methods: factory calibration and custom calibration. "Factory Calibration" is set by Ion Science Ltd when the instrument is manufactured or recalibrated. "Custom Calibration" can be set by the instrument user.
Contact Ion Science for factory calibration.
"Factory Calibration" provides a safe set of three-point calibration data. If a custom calibration fails, this data can be used to calibrate first, allowing the device to continue operating until a reliable custom calibration has been completed.
If you want to perform custom calibration, you should first set the parameters in TIGERLT PC
TIGERLT can be custom calibrated with any gas concentration above 10 ppm. Please prepare one bottle of gas of choice for each concentration and use of demand flow regulators is recommended. The flow rate of each flow regulator shall be adjusted to 0.3L per minute. Also, a flow adapter should be used to avoid over-pressurizing the instrument (sold separately).
Before starting the calibration procedure, prepare the cylinder, regulator and zero carbon filter (included in TIGERLT's calibration kit (A-861418)). In addition, it is necessary to use a clean gas source as the "zero value" gas. Before calibrating TIGERLT, please make sure you are familiar with the whole calibration process.
Note: The calibration of TIGERLT needs to be carried out in a clean air environment. Please ensure that all parts of the calibration kit are prepared and ready to use.
Never calibrate zero with span gas connected.
Press the OPTIONS soft key on the TIGERLT
to view the adjustable functions.
Use the UP or DOWN key to select the calibration icon
. Press the ENTER key to confirm the selection.
Select Custom Calibration
and press ENTER to confirm.
After confirming the selection, a 15-second countdown will be displayed
.
Remove the two covers of the carbon filter assembly (A-31057) and install it on the TIGERLT probe. Press the ENTER key to start the "Zero" countdown. At the end of the countdown, a check mark "√" will be displayed, indicating that the reset to zero has been completed. Disconnect the carbon filter assembly and replace the cap. If the carbon filter assembly is exposed to the atmosphere for a long time, it will shorten the service life.
