Thermax® paper for racing brake calipers
While the car is racing and trying to reach maximum speed, the brakes are often hard to apply, at which point the friction of the pads against the rotating disc transfers heat to the calipers.
If the temperature reaches 250°C, the brake fluid may lose its non-compressed state, causing the brakes to fade. If this happens, the brake fluid should be replaced at the next pit location.
The caliper is a convenient location for the Thermax® label as it clearly shows the brake fluid temperature.
Thermax® Temperature Paper for Engine Cam Covers - Race Ready Engines
When operating at peak performance, the top half of the engine still needs to be kept within the safe operating range or damage could result.
Water moves around the engine to cool components, but this can reach boiling temperatures.
Thermax® tags can be used to record the water temperature achieved during exercise, providing a quick reference when the car is in the pit.
These labels can be used on radiators and cylinder heads.
Thermax® Thermal Paper for Shock Absorbers - Competition Shock Absorbers on Rear Axle
Modified exhausts, especially on turbocharged cars, create hotter air that overheats the nearest shock absorbers.
This can affect the vehicle's handling and reduce the stability of the vehicle's suspension by up to a quarter.
Placing the Thermax® label on the lower housing will give clear indication if this happens during a race.
