This summer I ran thousands of research sites for a professional chemical company. With the weather stations we've been using, I've had to put in hundreds of hours trying to get them to work. If I deploy three stations, maybe someone will end up working. After doing quite a bit of research, we bought some Onset HOBO wireless weather stations U30-NRC, U30-GSM/RX3000(RX3003-00-01), U30-ETH/RX3000(RX3001-00-01), U30- WIFI/RX3000 (RX3002-00-01)
We study plots of field tests using herbicides. These are the research plots and there are 30,000 pieces in total. For spraying trials we need the ability to spray herbicides under the prevailing environmental conditions. We deploy two Onset HOBO wireless weather stations U30-NRC, U30-GSM/RX3000 (RX3003-00-01), U30-ETH/RX3000 (RX3001-00-01), U30-WIFI/RX3000 (RX3002-00 -01), the installation is very out of the box, simple. Our Garmin GPS is used to calibrate the system, and we found it invaluable to have a ¼" with flexible tip in the mounting sleeve. From a hardware standpoint, Onset's HOBO Wireless Weather Station U30-NRC, U30-GSM/RX3000 (RX3003-00-01), U30-ETH/RX3000 (RX3001-00-01), U30-WIFI/RX3000 (RX3002-00-01) provide our large number of simple total integrated sensors. We sample data hourly and very Glad when we went to uninstall the data it didn't stop the measurement system. We used both data and a laptop to transfer the data. Once we got the data we uninstalled the plot HOBOware and then used specialized software to process the data. The data we collected highlights that this is an extreme Drought years, that's why the herbicides act very differently. It's easy to see, in less than 10 seconds, what's going on.
