Domestic water supply monitoring - water level Recorder U20-001-01

Onset: Do water level loggers U20-001-01, U20-001-02, U20-001-03, U20-001-04, U20L-01, U20L-02, U20L-04 help you monitor your project?

Gardecki: In Pennsylvania, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) requires residential wells to be monitored for 10 years after municipal installations in nearby towns. Adhering to the requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency, we use HOBO water level loggers U20-001-01, U20-001-02, U20-001-03, U20-001-04, U20L-01, U20L-02, U20L-04 for monitoring Three private water supply wells ensure that the town's city is not affecting the aquifers of these wells.

Four times a year, we go to the city to collect data loggers. We monitor whether the water level drops, rises, or stays the same. That way, regulators can determine if a strong "vein" has been drilled in the municipal well and there is enough water in the residential well to ensure the pumps don't run dry. The loggers also help determine that water levels are rising, which would indicate that surface water is seeping into the aquifer.

Onset: Do you have any particular challenges with data collection?

Gardecki: I'm not a computer professional, and I didn't face any challenges collecting data from loggers. It took me about 30 seconds to download the cookies on our laptop.

Onset: How do you handle data?

Gardecki: We downloaded three months of data into HOBOware Pro software, printed out the graphs, and provided them with DEP so they could review the information. Regulators also maintain information files so they can review historical well data.

Onset: What were your results?

Gardecki: Data from water level loggers U20-001-01, U20-001-02, U20-001-03, U20-001-04, U20L-01, U20L-02, U20L-04 indicate whether wells and aquifers are stable. So far, the data suggest that town municipal installations into a strong "vein" aquifer do not affect the overall health of private wells. Data provides our peace of mind.

Onset: What are the important product features for a data logger you are looking for?

Gardecki: The features that are important to me are ease of use and low cost. Not only are the devices reliable, they are easy to use and easy to deploy. We also look for loggers that are durable and provide high precision measurements.

Finally, as someone without an engineering degree, HOBO water level loggers U20-001-01, U20-001-02, U20-001-03, U20-001-04, U20L-01, U20L-02, U20L-04 make me Tackle this project with confidence.
