user manual

Ion Science Ltd recommends that you familiarize yourself with this manual before using your TIGER. The “Notices” and “Introduction to TIGER” chapters contain important information and should be read carefully before turning on the TIGER for the first time.

Air intake probe

Make sure to install the supplied intake probe to the TIGER. See the Maintenance chapter for details on how to install and replace the intake probe. If the supplied air inlet probe is not suitable for your application, you will also find details of other available air inlet probes in the "Maintenance" chapter.

turn on

Press the ENTER/ON/OFF key once to turn on the TIGER.

closure

Press and hold the ENTER/ON/ON key for 3 seconds (a 3-second countdown will be displayed) to turn off TIGER. (NOTE: If the TIGER fails to close, press the Escape (Esc) key once or twice to return to the main screen, then press and hold the Enter/On/key again.)

Battery

Check if the TIGER has enough power. The battery icon (see "Display Description" chapter) must have at least two bars.

rechargeable battery

The TIGER instrument is supplied with a rechargeable battery pack (A2) which is fully charged at the factory, but prolonged storage may cause the battery pack to discharge. We recommend that you charge the instrument for seven hours before using it. See the Battery section on pages 33 to 35 of this manual.

alkaline battery

The TIGER also comes with an AA alkaline battery pack (A3). See the "Battery" section of this manual for more information.

select gas

TIGER instruments are factory preset to detect TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds) gas types. The instrument has been calibrated with isobutylene before leaving the factory, and all response factors have an equivalent relationship with it. When changing to a gas from the internal gas gauge, all readings will be given using the response factor for that gas. Press the "ENTER/ON/OFF" key once to turn on TIGER.

Press the info icon (see "Using TIGER") to check that the gas alarm is set correctly. Change gas (if necessary) as described in "Gas Selection" in the "Using TIGER" chapter.
