Disperser configuration
1) The blade diameter should be roughly 1/3 the diameter of the container.
2) The speed target for common blades is 5200 feet per minute (ft/min).
3) Typical diffuser power requirements are in the range of 10 HP per 100 gallons of product.
4) Place the blade 1/2 of the blade diameter on the bottom of the tank
5) Liquid level should be 1 1/2 blade diameter above blade
6) The blade should be in the center of the tank
7) Allow the product to swirl to prevent material from splashing onto the top of the tank. A 20% freeboard is recommended.
While the above "rule of thumb" provides a very good starting point, this should not be a consideration in specifying dispersion power .
