Determination of Printing ink Fineness by Scraper Fineness Meter

The fineness of the ink is an index to measure the roughness of the ink. Generally, the smaller the fineness of the ink, the better the dispersibility, but too fine will reduce the vividness of the color; slightly thicker will reduce the gloss of the ink, and it is easy to block the screen and pile up ink during printing. Generally, the fineness of the ink is required to be about 15um. The particle size of self-made water-based epoxy resin emulsion is about 26nm, and the pigment uses color paste with a particle size of about 5μm. After mixing evenly, the particle size of the ink is about 5-10μm, which is smaller than the general ink requirement.

Use a scraper Fineness Meter to  measure the fineness of the pigment particles in the ink according to GB/T 13217.3-2008  , and the unit is  um . The inspection principle is to measure the grinding degree and dispersion of ink particles with a scraper Fineness Meter.
