Metering rods for production should be wound or formed?

Advantages of formed rod: continuous thread, small change in outer diameter (see explanation below), easy to clean, lighter weight (lower weight for large sizes), and cheaper when ordering a large quantity.

Disadvantage of formed rod: Actual coating conversion may be different from wire rod. For example, replacing a 10# wire rod with a 10# forming rod may not match in different applications. Because some paints flow slightly differently through the notch of a forming rod than through the notch of a wire rod.

If the customer originally used wire rods, he needs to understand that the coating effect may be slightly different from wire rods to forming rods, and trial and error is required in this process. Maybe the 10# wire rod was originally used, and the final customer will find that it needs to be replaced by a 11# or 9# or 8# forming rod.

In most cases, if the customer originally used the wire rod, it is recommended to continue to use the wire rod.
