There are several advantages when using a pressure tank system as your material supply source. Several of these benefits more than offset the initial investment and will increase your productivity and efficiency.
With a pressure pot system, you can precisely control atomizing air pressure and material pressure. This is extremely important for certain materials and spraying processes, since good atomization depends on the control of two parameters.
You can spray more viscous materials than gravity spray systems. The increased pressure obtained through the pressure pot system allows more viscous material to be supplied to the Spray Gun. This gives you a choice of different types of coatings and other materials that need to be thinned for gravity feed systems.
You are not bound by gravity. You can spray in any direction you like without losing material flow or pressure. If the part has awkward geometry or difficult angles, it is not constrained by the orientation of the gravity cup.
You get consistent material pressure. Because the material pressure is controlled by the regulator on the storage tank, it can ensure the consistency and accuracy of the material pressure. This cannot be overemphasized if you are working with high cost materials or if the consistency of the coating in your project is of paramount importance.
If your material doesn't have an expiry date, then you can leave it in the system and pick up quickly where you left off.
