The TQC Cylindrical Bend Test is a very powerful and elegant testing instrument that shows the elasticity, elongation and adhesion of paint films under bending stress. The TQC Cylindrical Bending Test is designed to perform tests according to the new ISO standard. ISO 1519: "Evaluation of the resistance of coatings, paints, varnishes or related products to cracking and/or detachment from a surface when bent about a cylindrical mandrel under standard conditions.
Safety Precautions
When performing the test, keep fingers and other body parts away from the bending area.
Make sure to perform all operations such as clamping and bending without applying any force
Do not exceed maximum panel thickness.
Visually inspect the mandrel for mechanical damage or marks.
Preparation before the test
1. Apply a film of paint on the largest test panel 100 x 150 mm, with a maximum thickness of 1 mm. Carefully apply and dry the film.
2. Install the device on the table with the grip wheel on the left side.

Test results are largely dependent on the selected test panel, coating thickness, drying conditions and environmental conditions. (see ISO1519)

Note any deviations from reproducible test results.
 | 1. Open the device sufficiently to insert a mandrel of the correct diameter. Turn the handle of the pressure roller counterclockwise. |  | 3. Pull the handle, and move it smoothly for 1-2 seconds to make it bend 180°. |
 | 2. Place and fix the test panel in the device, next to the mandrel. Secure it vertically into the jig. After bending, the coated side of the panel should face outward. |  | 4. Release the test panel from the test device and check the results immediately. |

Despite its robust design, this instrument is precision machined. Never drop or fall
Always clean the instrument after use.
Clean the instrument with a soft dry cloth. Never use any mechanical means such as wire brushes or sandpaper to clean the instrument. Like using aggressive cleaners, this can cause permanent damage.
Do not use compressed air to clean the instrument.
