Uncertainty evaluation of indication error of Leeb Hardness Tester

Discussion and analysis on the uncertainty evaluation of Leeb Hardness Tester indication error detection results. Leeb Hardness Tester is a kind of testing instrument, which is mainly designed according to the principle of elastic impact and is used to test the hardness of metal materials. The Hardness Tester is mainly composed of an impact device and a display device. According to JJG747-1999 "Leeb Hardness Tester Verification Regulations", this paper discusses and analyzes the standard uncertainty components introduced in the process of Leeb Hardness Tester indication error measurement, and then synthesizes the standard uncertainty of the test results, calculates out of the expanded uncertainty.

The Leeb hardness test method is a dynamic hardness test method. Use the impact device of the Hardness Tester to release the impact body from the fixed position, impact on the surface of the sample, measure the impact velocity and rebound velocity at the point where the ball head is 1mm away from the sample surface, and the Leeb hardness value is determined by the rebound speed of the ball head and the impact expressed as a ratio of speed.
